Prof. Wei Chen is Head of School of Biomedical Engineering and Professor at the University of Sydney, Australia. She received her B. Eng. degree and M. Eng. degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China and her Ph.D. degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Her work experience before joining the University of Sydney includes Bell Labs Alcatel-Lucent, Germany, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, University of Melbourne and Fudan University. She is also the Associate Editor of IEEE Journal on Biomedical Health Informatics (J-BHI), IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering (TNSRE), and IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine (JTEHM) and the Managing Editor of IEEE Reviews in Biomedical Engineering (2020-2022).
Her research interests include patient health monitoring, sleep monitoring, brain activity monitoring, smart sensor systems, wearable sensor systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science for healthcare, neonatal monitoring, smart rehabilitation, ambient intelligence, personalized and smart environment.
