XIANGHUA XIE (SM'13) received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and the M.Sc. degree in advanced computing (with commendation) from the University of Bristol, in 2006 and 2002, respectively. He was a Senior Lecturer from 2012 to 2013. He was a Research Associate with the Computer Vision Group, Department of Computer Science, University of Bristol. He has strong research interests in video analysis, stereo systems, active contour models, level set methods, texture analysis, and medical image understanding. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Visual Computing Group, Department of Computer Science, Swansea University. He leads a team of researchers with Swansea University in his research interests areas, and has authored just under 100 papers in computer vision and pattern recognition. He held an RCUK Academic Fellowship from 2009 to 2012. He is an Associate Editor of IET Computer Vision, and the General Chair of BMVC'15 and MIUA'12. He is an Executive Committee Member of BMVA.
