Karl-Günter Gaßmann received his degree and M.D. from the School of Medicine at the Ruperto-Carola-University in Heidelberg, Germany in 1986. He currently holds a professorship at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erlangen, Germany and is director of the Geriatrics Center Erlangen at Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien, Erlangen, Germany. He is member of several medical societies and his research interests include fall prevention, gait analysis and frailty assessment in older age.
