Controlling knee swing initiation and ankle plantarflexion with an active prosthesis on level and inclined surfaces at variable walking speeds

Controlling knee swing initiation and ankle plantarflexion with an active prosthesis on level and inclined surfaces at variable walking speeds 150 150 IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine (JTEHM)

Improving lower-limb prostheses is important to enhance the mobility of amputees. The purpose of this study was to introduce an impedance-based control strategy (consisting of four novel algorithms) for an…

This study evaluated an experimental procedure for providing data on the complex permittivity of different cell lines in the 2-50 GHz range at room temperature, for the purpose of future dosimetric studies. The complex permittivity measurements were performed on cells suspended in culture medium using an open-ended coaxial probe. The results demonstrate the method to be a viable technique for distinguishing between different cancerous and non-cancerous cell types. Other possible clinical applications include optimizing exposure frequency for hyperthermia treatment.

Panel B shows 12 minutes of bipolar EEG from Fp2-F4 (1-70 Hz, 200 S/s). Panel A is the corresponding spectrogram. Panel E shows 30 seconds of EEG from Panel B at the onset of the generalized seizure (dashed line). Panels C, D, and F are the corresponding tEEG signals from Fp2’ (1-100 Hz, 200 S/s). Note the high gamma-band burst HFOs just prior to the partial seizure (highlighted by ellipse in panel C).
