Hasan Alnashash

Hasan AlnashashHasan Alnashash is a professor, Director of the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program and former Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah. The main themes of Dr. Alnashash’s research work are in the general areas of Neuroengineering, Signal processing and Microelectronics. His research publications are in cognitive vigilance assessment and enhancement, brain source localization in epilepsy, assessment of spinal cord and brain injuries, flexible implantable electrodes and low power electronic devices. In addition, he designed and developed several electronic instruments to measure various biodynamic parameters. He is the author of more than 100 journal and conference papers, 5 book chapters and 2 issued US patents. He is leading the effort to establish the Biosciences and Bioengineering Research at AUS. In addition, he was involved in establishing several electrical engineering departments and biomedical engineering specialization in Jordan, Oman and the UAE. Dr. Alnashash played an active role in organizing several biomedical and electrical engineering conferences. He is a senior member of the IEEE and the former Middle East and Africa representative on the IEEE-EMBS Administrative Committee. Dr. Alnashash received a number of awards and was the keynote and invited speaker at several conferences. Dr. Alnashash worked closely with several biomedical engineering departments and hospitals at the National University of Singapore, Johns Hopkins University, Rashid Hospital, the American Hospital in Dubai, Khlifa Hospital in Ajman and Jordan University Hospital.
