Call for Papers “Methods of Information in Medicine – Focus Theme”
Machine Learning and Data Analytics in Pervasive Health

While machine learning and data analytics are called to be fundamental assets for achieving personalised medicine, pervasive health technologies are a growing source of data for enriching mainstream EHRs for diagnosis and treatment purposes. This Focus Theme looks into the crossroads of the pervasive health technologies and data analytics binomial as key enablers of new personalised services and products impacting on future healthcare management. We seek novel, innovative, and exciting work in the following areas:
- Pervasive health applications based on data-driven machine learning
- Data analytics for improved disease management
- Smart systems for health promotion and disease prevention
- Smart hospitals
- Smart systems to support clinicians, patients and caregivers
- Knowledge discovery in healthcare data • Pervasive health data for personalised medicine
- Decision support systems based on pervasively collected data
- Feasibility or clinical trials with sensor-data-based DSS
- Wearable, onboard-device reasoning
- Security and privacy issues of smart health systems
High quality, original manuscripts will be subject to a rigorous review process. Submissions must follow the submission guidelines of Methods of Information in Medicine. Papers must not have appeared in, nor be under consideration by other journals. Please submit electronically under http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/methods and select “Original Article for a Focus Theme” as manuscript type. Please mention in the cover letter the title of this Focus Theme.
