I am a Professor of Robot Vision at the Department of Computer Science at UCL, Co-Director of the UCL Hawkes Institute, Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies, and on the board of the Centre for Medical Image Computing (CMIC) at UCL. I am also a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (FIEEE), Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (FIET), Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), and Fellow of the MICCAI Society (FMICCAI). I first studied Computer Systems and Electronics at King’s College London before completing a PhD in Computer Science at Imperial College London, where I specialised in medical image computing. My research is focused on developing surgical robotics and artificial intelligence for improving minimally invasive interventions.
