HAPPY New Year and welcome to 2018! IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering (TBME) remains healthy and strong, with many of the journal’s metrics reaching a historical high heading into the new year. I would like to thank all of you for your continuous support and contributions through the past years. You have made a significant impact on TBME and brought it to a new level.
TBME’s impact factor has steadily increased over the past years. Based on the latest Journal Citation Report data, the TBME 2016 impact factor has reached a historical high of 3.577, reflecting a 45% increase over the 2015 impact factor. In 2017, TBME achieved the following: CiteScore reached 4.20, a historical high; H5-index ranked No. 3 by Google Scholar among biomedical technology journals; H-index ranked No. 7 by SJR among all biomedical engineering related publications. TBME continues to attract high quality submissions from over 70 countries with over 2000 submissions per year. The journal has been increasingly selective with an acceptance rate of 18.7% over the past 12 months.
I would like to thank our Scientific Advisory Board, the Editorial Board, the Managing Editor and all IEEE staff, and the thousands of TBME reviewers for their valuable time and expertise in maintaining the high quality of TBME papers. We would also like to thank the TBME authors for submitting their fine scientific work to the journal. Together, we have made TBME a better journal.
