John Greaves

John Greaves has been actively involved in Technology Standardization for over 40 years. His pioneering work in the area of Global Logistics, Inventory Management, Transportation and Government are the basis for technology deployments in Transportation Facilities, Fisheries, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing and more which has led to significant adoptions occurring in these technologies and applications globally today.

John led the European Spectrum Initiative, was the leader of the GTAG program for EAN.UCC (GS1), and is a member of the PMA Blockchain Task Force, Chair of INCITS (International Council for Information Technology Standards), and Chair of the MH10 ANSI Committee in labelling, marking and data for packaging and unit loads along with JTC1 WG14 Quantum Computing. He is Secretary of IEEE P2418.6 along with being a principal in the IEEE Vision 22 Program concerned with Pharmaceutical Programs.

His outstanding work in identifying RFID and the Digital Supply Chain as the next steps in Commercial Fulfillment is recognized by his being named “Dr Blockchain”.

He has developed amongst many significant implementations worldwide an RTI solution with CHEP, Tolling in California, Cairo Metro technology Upgrade, Port of Jebel Ali, Port of Baltimore,  Food Safety and Health Care Supply Chain application architecture covering the transportation, public safety, brand protection and antitheft areas. 

John has served with distinction in the standards, regulatory, government bodies including ETSI, CEPT, CEN, ISO as well as addressing, and being a member of, many of the leading industry bodies, Institute of Logistics, CIES, ICSC, IATA and as a representative to Auto ID Center at MIT.  John is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

He is a frequent contributor to leading industry publications and public media with thought provoking commentary and practical resolution of issues on technology implementation form the basis of many of today’s successful Value Chain rollouts.
