Ashley is an Expert Assessor in benefit-risk evaluation at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), focusing on medical devices used in orthopaedic and cosmetic therapies. Before rejoining MHRA, where Ashley previously worked as the Technical Lead for Orthopaedics, he led regulatory and quality assurance projects as a Principal Consultant in industry for RQM+.

Ashley holds an MSc and PhD in Orthopaedic Engineering from the University of Leeds and is accredited as a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIMechE) by the UK Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He is also RAC Devices certified by the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) and a member of the Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA).

Additionally, Ashley is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Medical Device Regulatory Affairs at Trinity College Dublin, with research interests in post-market surveillance systems and the generation of real-world evidence to demonstrate safety and performance for implantable medical devices.
