Fig. 1. Schematic diagram of the breastfeeding diagnostic device (BDD) consisting of a pressure recording and transmitting unit and a data receiving and processing unit. Intraoral pressure is probed by an air-filled non-collapsible tubing with one end taped to the maternal or bottle nipple and the other end connected to a silicon-based pressure transducer. The measured pressure value is digitized and transmitted wirelessly to the data receiving and processing unit for data display, processing, storage and interface with users.
