Hospitals are Paying More Attention Than Ever to Radiation Dose from Medical Imaging in the Wake of new EU Legislation 150 150 IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine (JTEHM)

From March 6-10, Vienna, Austria will once again play host to the annual European Congress of Radiology (ECR). This year a recently published European Directive, laying out guidelines for member states on effective hospital dose management, is proving a major talking point for attending physicians.
The European Directive details specific measures that need to be in place by February 2018, regarding the use of radiation for medical treatments and diagnostics, including justification of the use of radiation and optimization of dose.
