The University of Sydney team finished second in this year’s Physionet Computing in Cardiology challenge “Early Prediction of Sepsis from Clinical Data”

The University of Sydney team including John Anda Du, Dr Nadi Sadr and Professor Philip de Chazal (the CPS-TC member), finished second in this year’s Physionet Computing in Cardiology challenge “Early Prediction of Sepsis from Clinical Data”. The team developed an automated system for predicting the onset of sepsis using clinical data. It achieved an area under the ROC of 0.82 for predicting sepsis 6 hours before the clinical prediction of sepsis. See https://physionet.org/content/challenge-2019/1.0.0
