Call for Applications – Maximo Valentinuzzi Scholarship

IEEE EMBS invites graduate students from the Latin American region to apply as candidates for the Maximo Valentinuzzi scholarship. This scholarship has been established this year as a tribute to the scientific and academic career of Dr. Max Valentinuzzi, a precursor of Bioengineering in the region and outstanding Life Fellow of IEEE-EMBS:

The selected candidate will receive a total amount of 5,000 USD to partially fund the cost of tuition and living expenses during his/her graduate studies in an internationally recognized program in a Latin American institution.

The search for candidates is oriented towards graduate students who embody the ideals of Max Valentinuzzi: academic excellence, passion for research, recognized human qualities, and a strong social commitment.  

Application Requirements:

-Be a Graduate Student Member of EMBS at the time of application.
-Be enrolled as a graduate student at a university located in Latin America pursuing a degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, digital health, health informatics, or related fields.

The application must include: 
(a) A complete CV in English
(b) Two letters of recommendation
(c) Proof of current enrollment at a graduate school in a Latin American institution
(d) A statement of purpose, clearly describing how the proposed line of research and career path aligns with the mission and vision of EMBS and the ideals of Maximo Valentinuzzi (max. 1000 words).
