Yu-Wei Liao received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. He is a Ph.D. degree candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA. He applies robotics and control techniques to design functional electrical stimulation controllers that ensure the limb stability during motions for paralyzed patients. His research interests include robotics, human biomechanics and motor control, and machine learning.
