Raimes Moraes received the BSc degree in electrical engineering from Federal University of Uberlˆandia, Brazil (1988), the MSc degree in electrical engineering from the State University of Campinas, Brazil (1991), and the PhD degree in medical physics from the University of Leicester, England (1995). He is a Professor at the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. His current research interests include medical instrumentation and discretetime signal processing applied to respiratory sounds and heart rate variability.
