Hum Chung received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the College of Medicine, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1974, 1977, and 1982, respectively. He completed residency in 1979 with the Department of Ophthalmology, Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul, and has been a practicing Vitreoretinal Surgeon since 1982. He also served a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, MA, USA, from 1985 to 1987. He is currently the Director of the Korean Uveitis Society and Nano Artificial Vision Research Center funded by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea. He has published more than 150 clinical and scientific papers, edited books, and book chapters. His primary research interests include artificial vision and vitreoretinal diseases.
