She received the M.D degree in medicine from the University of Copenhagen in 1992 and the Ph.D. degree in medicine also from the University of Copenhagen in 2004. From 2005 to 2008, she worked as a resident in paediatric, and from 2009 to 2011 as a trainee in child neurology at different hospitals in the Region of Copenhagen.
