A factorial approach for optimizing the design parameters of a tissue attachment mechanism for drug delivery
In this work, a tissue attachment mechanism (TAM) was designed, optimized, and validated for a drug delivery ingestible capsule robot with a straightforward and mass-producible fabrication process. For the first time with this type of device, an optimization process was conducted on live tissue incorporating the dynamic nature of tissue response, and an attachment success rate of 92% was achieved.
