TNSRE serves the community of biomedical engineers and clinical researchers who work at the intersection of neuroscience and physical medicine. We publish novel approaches and technologies for better understanding neural systems, human movement, and the relationships between them, with a focus on assistive devices that improve life for patients, for practicing clinicians, and for everyday use.
Tyler Susko (M'14) received the B.S. degree in integrated business and engineering, the M.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering both from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, USA, in 2007 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, in 2015. From 2010 to 2014 he was a Research Assistant with the Eric P. and Evelyn E. Newman Laboratory for Biomechanics and Human Rehabilitation while serving three terms as the Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate electronics course. In March of 2015, he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Between the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees, he spent two years as a Mechanical Design and Development Engineer at Ingersoll Rand. During his time with Ingersoll Rand, he also served as an Adjunct Professor of Physics at Augusta State University. His research interests include rehabilitation robotics, mechatronics, and novel machine design. Dr. Susko received a departmental fellowship from the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a President's Scholar award from Lehigh University.
