J-BHI publishes original papers describing recent advances in the field of biomedical and health informatics where information and communication technologies intersect with health, healthcare, life sciences and biomedicine.
Altug Akay (M’11) received the B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, in 2005, and the M.A. degree from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, in 2007. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in the School of Technology and Health at the Royal Institute of Technology, Huddinge, Sweden. Upon graduating from Dartmouth, he worked at Siemens Healthcare, Erlangen, Germany, for one year under the supervision of Dr. Gudrun Zahlmann. He worked at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Paolo Bonato from 2008 to 2009. His current research interests include public health, health policy, and health technology.
