Laura J. Wolf, CMM
EMBS Executive Director
Laura, a native New Jerseyite, graduated from the Pennsylvania State University (Go, Lions!) with a B.S. in Hospitality Management. After working in hotel sales for a number of years, in 1994, she began her career at IEEE in the Meeting Planning Services Department. In January 1999, Laura was hired by EMBS as its Technical Activities Manager and was later promoted to Executive Director in 2000.
As Executive Director, Laura oversees the daily activities of the Society and interfaces with IEEE. Laura’s life is currently run (not in any particular order) by EMBS President, IEEE, her daughter Loralei and her dog, Nico.

Senior Administrator, Society Services
Michael, an internal transfer from the IEEE Power Electronics Society with IEEE, joins the EMBS family as the Senior Administrator of Society Services. Mike has prior volunteer engagement while working for the Power Electronics Society as a Technical Community Program Specialist. Mike has a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems with Concentration in Web Design. With EMBS, Mike will be handling all AdCom, Chapter, Distinguished Lecturer and Student related activities.

Senior Administrator, Technical Activities & Services
Scott is a native New Yorker, but has lived in New Jersey for over 25 years. His background is mostly working for financial firms in their meeting and event marketing departments.
After graduating from Brigham Young University with a BS in psychology, he worked in front office operations for the Waldorf Astoria. The best place to use a psychology degree! He returned to graduate school at Fairleigh Dickinson University to receive his MBA in Business Management.
After graduation, Scott began his career at Solomon Brothers in their meetings and special events department. Through the years he has had the opportunity to work for Lehman Brothers, Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse. This has allowed him to acquire a skill level in handling a variety of events from small sales meetings, large multi-track conferences for 2,000 to large gala museum dinners and hot air ballooning breakfasts.
Scott started working for IEEE in August of 2014 and joined the EMBS team in July of 2015. He works with Technical Activities, Publications and various special projects as well as fostering new sponsorship of conferences in growing them into successful annual EMB events.

Associate Conference Planner
Janice, new to IEEE, comes from a Pharmaceutical background with 15+ years’ experience in Meeting & Convention Planning. Janice received her A.A.S in Business Administration at Berkeley College and took part in their Travel and Tourism program which gave her the opportunity to study in London. Upon graduation, Janice started her career in the Hospitality Industry which included working at a Travel Agency planning large corporate events and working in Hotel Management. With EMBS, Janice will be working closely with the appointed Conference Chairs and its Organizing Committee providing all aspects of Conference & Meeting planning logistics, as well as administrative duties which consist of working in Papercept and Cvent. In her spare time, Janice enjoys spending time with her husband Craig, and their two teenage children, Daniella and Hunter, which definitely keep her busy!

Adrian T. Plummer, MPA, PMP
Administrator, Special Projects
New to IEEE, Adrian joins as the Administrator for EMBS Special Projects to support the Executive Director and Committee Members with EMBS strategic efforts. She offers a wealth of experience in Non-Profit Management, Governance, Financial Analytics and reporting, Grant Review and Administration, and more! She carries an M.A. in Public and Administration & Non Profit Management from Kean University, a B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University – New Brunswick, and a B.S. in Business Administration & Management from Thomas Edison State College.
She began her post graduate career in the Pharmaceutical industry working with Non-Profit Patient Assistance Drug programs; helping patients gain access to medications they would otherwise not have the means to purchase. She transitioned into focusing on Social Justice Programs serving women and girls as the Finance & Operations Manager for the New Jersey Coalition for Batted Women (NJCBW) in the areas of Domestic Violence, sexual assault, and juvenile justice.
During her time with NJCBW Adrian worked at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director, to promote and support the organizational mission and execution of the strategic plan.
She has appeared before members of the United States Congress and New Jersey State Legislature as a social justice advocate, represented her organization serving on boards, committees, and advisory councils, and worked in collaboration with the US Department of Justice, Department of Health & Human Services, New Jersey Division on Women, NJ Juvenile Justice Commission, and a host of other NGO’s.
She, and her loving husband Daryn, continue to be active members of the New Jersey community, which they have both called home for 30+ years. By supporting youth based initiatives within the Board of Education and the local Department of Recreation they are working to build a stronger community for their two children Lena and Jaxin.
