Unprecedented Collaboration in Pursuit of Diagnostics and Treatments to Fight COVID-19
The IEEE Grand Challenges Forum was held 12-15 November 2020, and speakers discussed topics related to the challenges and opportunities for screening, tracing, and treatment of COVID-19. The forum highlighted the unprecedented collaboration among biomedical engineers, clinicians, and healthcare industry leaders to fast track development of novel diagnostics and treatments to fight COVID-19 including the development of portable, rapidly deployable, and affordable diagnostic testing kits, personal protective equipment, mechanical ventilators, and data analysis and modeling tools.
