As a leading professional society in biomedical engineering, IEEE EMBS is participating in a number of technical activities and playing a leadership role in technical activities in the field of biomedical engineering. In an effort to focus the scientific and technical excellence within EMBS, a number of Technical Committees have been formed targeted areas of biomedical engineering. These technical committees will coordinate conference, publication, and member development within a particular area of scientific/technical excellence. Members of Technical Committees include experts in the technical area represented by the Technical Committee, from academia, industry and government. Technical Committees also work with technical program committees of EMBS conferences and editors of EMBS journals to assist developing theme technical programs of conferences and special issues in journals.
