The IEEE Board of Directors announced the 2012 IEEE Awards Recipients.  Congratulations to Savio L.-Y. Woo, recipient of the 2012 IEEE Medal for Innovations in Healthcare Technology, sponsored by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.

 

This Medal is given for outstanding contributions and/or innovations in engineering within the fields of medicine, biology, and healthcare technology.

Dr. Woo, a member of US National Academy of Engineering and Institute of Medicine, is recognized:

“For pivotal contributions to biomechanics and its application to orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.”
