You are invited to attend a Beyond Brain Machine Interface:
From Senses to Cognition Workshop
Sunday, June 20, 2010
Long Beach Convention Ctr, Long Beach, CA.
The one day workshop is planned to push the frontiers of Brain Machine Interface (BMI), from sensory and motor interfaces to enhancing cognitive and physical performance. Distinguished leaders in the field will present reviews and lead discussions, while junior scientists are invited to apply for travel fellowships and present posters on their work. The workshop will have three major sub-themes: (1) To review the latest developments at the frontiers of BMI technology, in terms of neural interfaces, signal modality and neural decoding, (2) To inspire the development of completely new technologies aimed at assisting and augmenting human functionality, and (3) To provide visionary, "next frontier" ideas, that go beyond BMI for computer interface or prosthesis into other fields of extension of motor performance, sensory feedback, speech, and cognitive enhancements.
Investigator Registration fee: $100
Student / Postdoc Fellow Registration fee: $50
Advanced students and postdoctoral fellows interested in presenting posters may apply for $300 travel fellowships by submitting an abstract and a CV.
